1 c. butter (1/2 lb.)
1 1/2 c. flour (plain)
1 egg
1 c. sugar
Pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla (or almond) flavoring

Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten egg, flour and salt. Mix well. Add vanilla. Drop 1/2 teaspoon cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Yield: 3 dozen.
