1 2/3 c. all purpose flour
1 c. packed light brown sugar
1/2 c. applesauce
1/3 c. salad oil
1 tsp. ground allspice
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cider vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. pitted prunes, diced
Confectioners sugar for garnish

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In bowl, heat first 8 ingredients and 1/4 cup water; pour into greased 9 x 9 inch baking pan. Sprinkle cake with prunes. Bake 20-22 minutes. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar. Makes 9 servings.
