NEW ORLEANS DROP COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. molasses
2 eggs
2 1/4 c. sifted enriched flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. seedless raisins
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Slow melt shortening; cool. Add molasses and eggs; beat well. Sift flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and soda; add alternately with milk to first mixture. Add raisins and nuts. Drop by teaspoons on greased baking sheet and bake in hot oven, 425 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 4 to 5 dozen.
