BERTHA'S COFFEE CAKE 
CAKE:

1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. hot milk
1 tbsp. butter

TOPPING:

1/4 c. butter
2 tbsp. cream or evaporated milk
2/3 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. nuts
1/8 tsp. salt

CAKE: Mix all ingredients and put in a greased 9"x13" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 35 minutes.

TOPPING: Mix all ingredients and spread on warm cake. Bake at 350 degrees for 3 to 4 more minutes.
