CAT'S HEAD BISCUITS | |
2 1/2 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. shortening 3/4 c. buttermilk (or yogurt and milk) Mix dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until it resembles coarse meal. Stir in milk. Knead lightly on floured surface. Pinch off portions "about the size of a cat's head." Flatten lightly to make biscuit shape. Place on greased pan with biscuits almost touching. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. Makes about 8-10 large biscuits. |
