ZUCCHINI OR CUCUMBER PICKLES 
4 qts. cucumbers, sliced (not peeled)
4 med. onions, sliced
1 green pepper
1 red pepper
3 cloves garlic, left whole

Sprinkle with 1/3 cup salt. Cover with crushed ice for 3 hours.

Boil together:

1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
3 c. white vinegar (5%)
5 c. sugar
2 tbsp. mustard seed

Pour over drained vegetables and refrigerate. Makes 1 gallon. Last 1 year.
