MAPLE BUTTER TWISTS 
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1/4 c. butter
3 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. scalded milk
2 eggs, unbeaten
3 1/4-3 1/2 c. flour

FILLING:

1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. maple syrup
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. maple flavoring
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped

Soften yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. Combine butter, sugar, salt and milk in large bowl. Stir in eggs. When hot milk has cooled slightly, add softened yeast. Gradually add flour, beating well after each addition. Cover; let rise in warm place 1-1 1/2 hours.

Meanwhile cream butter, brown sugar, sugar, syrup, flour, cinnamon, maple flavoring and walnuts well. On floured surface divide dough in half. Roll out 14 x 8 inch rectangle. Spread with half of filling. Roll up starting with 14 inch side. Cut roll in half lengthwise. Twist strips together, cut side up. Shape into ring in well greased 8 or 9 inch round pan. Repeat with remaining dough. Cover. Let rise in warm place 45 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Frost if desired. Freezes well. Serves 12.
