ADD "SPICE" TO YOUR APPLE PIE 
To your regular recipe for apple pie, substitute 1/3 or 1/4 of the amount of apples with sliced crab apples. To mild apples use proportions of 3 to 1. For more tart apples, substitute 1 cup crab apples to 4 cups of other apples.

To prepare crab apples, wash but do not peel. The peelings will not cause any problems. Frozen crab apples may be used.
