2 c. sugar
3 1/2 c. self-rising flour
4 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 lb. bag orange slice candy
1 c. coconut
1 (8 oz.) box dates
1 c. nuts (pecans or walnuts)

Mix all ingredients together by stirring. Bake 2 1/2 hours at 275 degrees.

GLAZE:

2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. orange juice

Mix together and bring to a boil. Pour over cake. Let stand overnight.
