CHEESECAKE SQUARES 
1/3 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. flour
1/2 c. nuts

TOPPING:

1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. sugar
8 oz. cream cheese
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
1 tbsp. lemon juice

Cream butter and brown sugar in small bowl. Add flour and nuts; mix to make crumb mixture, reserving 1 cup crumb mixture for top. Press remainder in the bottom of 8 inch square pan and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes until light brown.

Blend sugar and cheese; add egg, milk, lemon juice and vanilla; beat well and spread over crust; put remainder of crumbs on top and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. (Watch bottom crust browning carefully.)
