SOFT SAUCE FOR FRESH FRUITS 
2 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. flour
3/4 c. milk
2 tbsp. cold water
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. milk
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla

Melt butter. Stir in flour, 3/4 cup milk, water and sugar. Stir well and heat. When hot, add 1/4 cup milk with egg yolk beaten in it, also vanilla. Stir well and bring to boil. Thickens as it cools. When cool, pour over fresh fruit in sherbet cups.
