PUNCH BOWL CAKE 
1 chocolate cake mix
1 lg. box chocolate pudding (instant)
2 cans (1 lg. & 1 sm.) cherry pie filling
1 lg. container Cool Whip
Crushed nuts or chocolate for decoration
1 lg. punch bowl

Bake cake according to directions. While cake cools, mix pudding as directed. Break cooled cake into pieces in bottom of punch bowl. Pour pudding over top of cake pieces and smooth. Pour cherries over this (this doesn't spread easy). Then spread Cool Whip over this. Sprinkle with chopped nuts or chocolate shavings or sprinkles. Refrigerate. This can be made ahead and kept in the refrigerator for a couple of days.
