PEANUT BUTTER BARS 
3/4 c. Karo syrup, light
3/4 c. white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 2/3 c. peanut butter
3 tbsp. butter
3 1/2 c. Rice Krispies
6 oz. real chocolate chips
1/2 c. peanut butter

May substitute Special K or corn flakes for all or part of the Rice Krispies.

Heat the Karo syrup, sugar, and vanilla in a double boiler. Do not boil! Add the 1 2/3 cups of peanut butter and the butter. Stir well to blend. Add the Rice Krispies. Press this mixture into the bottom of a greased 9 x 13 inch pan.

Frosting for the above: Melt the chocolate chips with the 1/2 cup peanut butter. Spread on top of the bars. Place bars in refrigerator to harden.
