LAYERED SALAD 
2 c. lettuce, broken in pieces
12 oz. frozen peas, partly thawed
1 c. cauliflower, break in sm. pieces
1 can water chestnuts, drained
1 tbsp. onion, diced
1 1/2 c. salad dressing
1/2 c. sugar
6 strips fried bacon
1 1/2 c. Cheddar cheese

Layer the first 5 ingredients in a large bowl. Mix 1 1/2 cups salad dressing with 1/2 cup sugar. Spread over layer salad. Fry 6 strips of bacon until crisp. Crumble over dressing. Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups Cheddar cheese over bacon. Let set. Stir and serve.
