BREAD PUDDING 
4 eggs
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1 qt. milk
1 1/2 tbsp. butter
7-8 slices stale bread
1/2 c. raisins

Beat eggs, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and salt in large bowl. Scald milk. Add butter. Mix milk slowly and briskly into ingredients into bowl. Add bread (break into 1 inch pieces).

Put into buttered baking dish and place in a pan of water. (Use 2 1/2 quart oblong pan.) Bake at 350 degrees approximately 1 hour. Pudding is done when knife is put in center and comes out clean.
