CUSTARD BREAD PUDDING 
6 slices bread
3 beaten eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. milk

Butter each slice bread on one side. Trim crusts. Put in baking dish buttered side down. Mix eggs, sugar and 1 cup milk, then add vanilla and 3 more cups milk. Pour over bread. Raisins or coconut may be added. Let sit 30 minutes. Bake 1 hour in pan of hot water, 350 degrees.
