NEW ENGLAND CORN CHOWDER 
4 slices bacon
1 med. onion, chopped
2 c. water
2 or more potatoes, diced
Salt & pepper to taste
2 c. cream style corn
2 c. rich milk or can of evaporated milk
1 tbsp. butter

Fry bacon, add onion and cook until brown. Add water, diced potatoes, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Add corn and milk and simmer for 5 minutes. Just before serving, add butter.

More corn, whole kernel corn if desired instead of cream style, can be added. More bacon can also be added.
