GRANDMA MULLIS' FAMOUS CRANBERRY
BREAD

2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. butter
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. grated orange peel
3/4 c. orange juice
1 1/2 c. raisins
1 1/2 c. fresh (or frozen) cranberries

Sift first 5 ingredients into large bowl. Cut butter into mixture until crumbly. Add egg, juice and peel all at once. Stir until mixture is evenly moist. Fold in raisins and cranberries.

Spoon into greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 5 or 10 minutes, or until tester comes out clean. This bread tastes better and slices easier the second day when cold.
