RUMSTICK JOHNNY CAKE 
1 c. Johnny cake meal
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. boiling water
1 egg
1/4 c. dark rum

Mix first 3 ingredients. Then add boiling water, egg and rum. Fry in bacon fat for 6 minutes. Turn over and cook approximately 4 minutes longer. If thinner cakes are preferred merely add additional liquid.
