CHOCOLATE DROP COOKIES 
1/2 soft shortening (part butter)
1 c. sugar
1 egg
3/4 c. milk
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cocoa
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix shortening, sugar, and egg together thoroughly. Stir in milk and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together and add to first mixture, stirring. Add nuts. Chill for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Drop mixture onto slightly greased cookie sheet, using a teaspoon. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool. Frost with chocolate icing if desired.
