SMOTHERED CORN 
10-12 ears fresh sweet corn
6 slices bacon, diced
1 sm. onion, minced
1 green pepper, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
3 tomatoes, peeled & chopped
1 tbsp. sugar (opt.)
Salt & pepper to taste

Cut corn from cob. Fry bacon in heavy, large skillet until brown. Add onion; saute until transparent. Add peppers, saute until wilted. Add corn; cook over low heat until tender, stirring often. Add tomatoes, sugar and seasonings. Cook 30 to 40 minutes or until well done, adding water if necessary. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
