SIMPLE CHICKEN 
Lightly grease a baking dish and spread a cup of uncooked, regular rice (not precooked rice) over bottom of pan. Shake an envelope of dry onion soup mix over rice. Dilute 1 can cream of mushroom soup with 1 can water and blend well; pour over rice and onion soup. Place chicken pieces over top and bake 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees.

To adapt to a healthier diet I substitute: dried or raw chopped onion and dry unsalted bouillon
1/3 less salt (special request) soup
skinned chicken breasts.
