WHOLE WHEAT DINNER ROLLS 
2 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 c. water
1 1/3 c. scalded milk
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. salt
3 tbsp. butter
4 c. whole wheat flour
3 c. white flour
2 beaten eggs

Soften yeast in water. Combine hot milk, sugar, salt and shortening. Let cool to lukewarm. Add 1 cup whole wheat flour and 1 cup white flour to milk mixture. Beat well. Add yeast and eggs. Stir in remaining flour or enough to make soft dough. Put in greased bowl and refrigerate 2 1/2 hours before serving, make balls with buttered hands and put into greased cake pans. Let rise 1 1/2-2 hours. Bake 1/2 hour at 350 degrees. Wipe with butter while hot.
