1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 c. boiling applesauce
4 tsp. cocoa
1/2 c. English walnuts, chopped
1 c. raisins
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. each cloves and nutmeg
1 glass of jam or jelly (any kind)
3 c. flour sifted with 2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda dissolved in hot water or coffee

Mix ingredients in order given and bake in a slow oven at 325 degrees.
