1/2 c. melted shortening
3/4 c. sugar
2 beaten eggs
4 tbsp. cocoa
Dash of salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour

Set waffle iron on medium high. Place about 2 teaspoons dough in each section. Bake about 1 minute. Remove carefully with fork. Cool. Frost and decorate, if desired. May have to brush waffle iron with oil to prevent sticking.
