SHEPHERD'S PIE 
1 1/2 to 2 lbs. hamburger
1 med. diced onion
2 (16 oz.) cans drained sweet peas (save liquid)
Mashed potatoes for 6 to 10 people
1 c. grated cheese (any flavor)

Fry about 1 1/2 to 2 pounds of hamburger in a frying pan, then drain all the grease off the ground meat. Add 1 medium diced onion and let cook a little bit. Put all of this in an oblong glass baking dish. The mix the cans of drained sweet peas with the meat. Stir together well. After that you add the mashed potatoes that are instant or homemade. You can use the liquid from the peas for the mashed potatoes.

Spread mashed potatoes evenly across the whole top of the meat and peas. Then sprinkle the grated cheese (any flavor) on top and then heat in the oven at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. Note - you should have followed your own recipe for the instant or homemade mashed potatoes. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
