APPLE PIE 
5-7 tart apples (prefer Macs)
3/4-1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
Dash of salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. butter

Pare apples and slice thin into pie plate lined with crust. Mix sugar, flour, salt and cinnamon. Pour over apples. Dot with butter. Adjust top crust. Bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes.

PIE CRUST (Double) :
3/4 c. Crisco plus 2 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. boiling water
1 tbsp. milk
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt

Put Crisco in a bowl. Add boiling water and milk. Beat mixture with fork until smooth and thick. Sift flour and salt into mixture. Stir until dough clings together and cleans the bowl. Roll on floured surface. If dough is sticky, roll in flour that is on rolling surface. Prepare only one recipe at a time.
