RICE AND NOODLE PILAF 
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
2 tbsp. shortening (Crisco)
2 c. thin egg noodles
1/2 cup rice
4 chicken bouillon cubes
4 cups water
1 tsp. salt

Brown noodles in hot shortening, stirring constantly. Add rice and remaining ingredients. Simmer 30 minutes, until all liquid is absorbed. Great with pork chops or chicken.
