GHOSTCAKE WITH FLAMING EYES | |
1 pkg. cake mix 1 c. water 3 eggs, wash shells 1/3 c. salad oil 1 pkg. frosting or your own white frosting 2 sugar cubes Licorice string 1 tsp. lemon extract Prepare cake mix and bake in long rectangular pan as directed using water, eggs and salad oil. When you crack eggs, break in the center, so that you can use the halves. Using toothpicks mark the center of the short edge, then mark 4 inches down on each long edge. Cut the cake between the center top and the side picks to make a rounded top for the ghosts head. Slide the corners you cut off down each side of the cake and turn them to look as though they are reaching out. Use frosting to attach arms to cake. Frost entire cake. Place the two egg shell halves cracked side up, on the cake for eyes. Place 1 sugar cube in each shell half. Make a mouth from licorice string. Just before serving pour 1/2 tsp. lemon extract over each sugar cube. Turn off the lights and the flames glow. |
