JEWISH APPLE CAKE | |
4 lg. apples (or 5 medium) tart is best 2 tsp. cinnamon 5 tbsp. sugar Peel and thinly slice apples. Add sugar and cinnamon, mix, set aside. 2 1/3 c. sugar 4 eggs 1/2 tsp. salt 3 tsp. vanilla butter and nut flavoring or plain vanilla may be used 1/3 c. orange juice 1 c. Crisco oil 3 c. flour 3 tsp. baking powder Mix well, alternate layers of cake mix and apple mixture. Bake in tube pan (grease and flour) at 350 degrees for 2 hours. Test with toothpick. cool for 10 minutes in pan. |
