GOB RECIPE 
Cream:

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco

Add:

2 eggs, beat well then add:
1 c. sour milk
1 c. boiling water
1 tbsp. vanilla

Sift together:

4 c. flour (full cups)
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cocoa

Add to above mixture and drop on ungreased cookie sheet. Use a tablespoon or a teaspoon for smaller ones. Bake 5 minutes at 450 degrees or 6 minutes at 425 degrees.

FILLING:

5 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk

Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Cool.

Cream:

1 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix together with flour and milk mixture above. Beat well. Make a double recipe for icing.

Put icing between 2 cakes and make like a sandwich. Wrap in wax paper. Icing should be spread very thick between cakes.
