1/2 c. warm water 2 pkg. dry yeast 1 1/2 c. milk 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. shortening 2 tsp. salt 2 beaten eggs 5-7 c. flour 3/4 c. butter 1/2 c. sugar Cinnamon Chopped nuts Measure water and yeast into large bowl. Stir in other ingredients except flour. Add the flour a little at a time, beating until smooth. Knead well. Tear off pieces and form balls size of walnuts. Melt 3/4 cup butter and roll each ball until coated and roll in 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon and chopped nuts. Place layers of balls in bottom of greased tube cake pan. Arrange next layer, etc. Let rise until double. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Remove from oven. Turn upside down. Cool. |
