PECAN SNOW BALLS 
2 c. sifted flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
1/2 c. sifted confectioners' sugar
2 c. ground pecans (or English walnuts)
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Sift together flour and salt. Cream shortening with confectioners' sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla. Mix in flour/salt and nuts. Shape into walnut size balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes. Roll in confectioners' sugar immediately.
