PORK CHOP CASSEROLE 
Brown chops and season. Place in casserole. Add water to drippings and pour around chops. Place large pieces of sliced onions on top.

Core and cut apples in 3-4 crosswise pieces and lay on top of chops. (A little brown sugar can be used if apples are tart.)

DRESSING FOR TOPPING:

2 c. bread pieces
1/4 c. or more chopped onion
Celery, cut up
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. sage

Put on top of chops and cover with aluminum foil. Bake in slow oven so dressing won't get too brown about 1 1/2 hours.
