JULEKAKE (Christmas Bread) 
5-6 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
2 pkg. dry yeast
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. soft butter
2 eggs
1 tbsp. crushed cardamon (to taste)
1 c. rinsed raisins

Measure 2 cups flour into large bowl. Add 1/2 cup sugar, salt and yeast. Add butter and 1 1/2 cups very hot tap water, stirring until butter has melted. Add the 2 eggs and a cup of flour. Add from 2 to 3 more cup flour with the cardamon and raisins kneading to good dough consistency.

Let rise, about an hour until doubled, put in pans, let rise again about an hour and bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. As soon as you take it from the oven, grease the top crust and sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on the crust.
