RYE BREAD | |
3 c. warm water 3 tbsp. shortening 1/4 c. honey 2 pkgs. dry yeast 1 tbsp. salt 2 c. rye flour White flour to make a firm dough Mix shortening, water, salt and honey together. Add yeast which has been soaked in a little warm water and add to dry ingredients - first the rye flour, then white flour. Knead until firm. Let stand until double its size. Knead again. Let rise again. Put into pans. Let rise. Bake 30 minutes, 350 degrees. |
