HEARTY CHICKEN SOUP 
3 c. water
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up
1/2 c. carrots, sliced
1/2 c. onion
1/2 c. celery
1/4 tsp. dried thyme
1 bay leaf
1 1/2 c. cooked chicken, diced
1 c. noodles, uncooked
1 (3 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained

In a large saucepan combine water, tomatoes, sliced vegetables and spices. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Simmer covered for 30 minutes. Remove bay leaf. Stir in chicken, uncooked noodles and mushrooms. Boil gently, covered until noodles are done (8 to 10 minutes). Serves 5 or 6.
