AUNT MYRTLE'S COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. molasses
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger

Cream together shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and molasses. Beat well. Sift dry ingredients together and mix in. Chill 1 hour. Roll in 1 inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool slightly. These have cracked tops.
