DOUGH: 1 cake yeast dissolved 1 c. scalded milk 1/3 c. melted butter 3 eggs, well beaten 1/4 c. lukewarm water 1/3 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 3 3/4 to 4 c. flour MIXTURE: 1 c. sugar 1 c. nuts Cinnamon Add sugar, butter, and salt to scalded milk. When lukewarm, add yeast mixture, eggs and just enough flour to make stiff batter. Cover and let rise until double. Knead down and let rise again. Roll into walnut-size balls, dip in melted butter, then roll in mixture of 1 cup or more of sugar, 1 cup nuts, and cinnamon to taste. Drop into ungreased angel food cake pan. Let rise 30 minutes. Bake approximately 10 minutes at 400 degrees, 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove immediately. |
