SUN DROP CAKE 
1 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
3 c. plain flour
1 c. sun-drop (soft drink)
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
1 tsp. lemon flavoring

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add flour and sun-drop alternately; add flavorings. Bake 1 1/2 hours, 325 degrees.

GLAZE:

Boil together 1 stick of butter, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1 cup sugar for 2-3 minutes. Pour glaze over cake while it is still hot.
