OLD FASHIONED CHRISTMAS COOKIES 
2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
3 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Flour to stiffen

Cream sugar, butter and eggs. Add baking soda and cream of tartar. Add flour, no more than a cup at a time. (Go easy on the flour, flour can always be added when you roll out the dough.) Place in refrigerator for at least 20 minutes. Take out and take portion of dough, roll out on floured board or counter top, use cut outs. Set oven to 375 degrees (350 if fluctuating heat). Bake 8 to 10 minutes or if golden on the bottom.
