MACAROONS (ARABIAN) 
1 cup coconut flakes
1/2 cup dates or figs, finely cut
1/2 cup walnuts
1/2 cup sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Combine 1 cup thin flaked coconut, 1/2 cup finely cut dates or figs, 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped, 1/2 cup sugar and 1/8 tsp. salt; mix well. Add 1 well-beaten egg and 1/2 tsp. vanilla and blend. Let stand 5 min. Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350°F. for 15 minutes. or until golden brown. Remove at once from sheet.
