THUMBPRINT COOKIES 
2/3 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. flour
2 egg whites, lightly beaten
1/2 c. nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Combine butter, sugar, egg yolks, vanilla, salt and flour. Roll into 1-inch balls. Dip in egg whites. Roll in nuts. Place on greased cookie sheet. Make thumbprint.

Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes. Fill with your favorite filling (jams, jellies, decorator frostings, etc.).
