WHIPPED TURNIP PUFF 
4 c. mashed cooked turnips
2 c. soft bread crumbs
1/2 c. melted butter
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. pepper
4 eggs, slightly beaten

Mix all ingredients together thoroughly. Spoon into a greased 1 1/2 quart casserole dish and brush the top with a little additional melted butter. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour. Turnips may be prepared ahead of time, but do not freeze.

Serves 8.
