TOP OF STOVE RICE PUDDING 
1 c. rice
2 qt. milk
1 qt. water
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
Almost 1/4 lb. butter
1 tbsp. vanilla
1/4 slice lemon
3 cinnamon sticks

Rinse rice in cold water. Mix rice with milk and water together. Beat egg and mix sugar to egg. Add this to rice mixture. Drop in butter, vanilla, lemon and cinnamon sticks.

Cook in a heavy saucepan on low heat about 1 hour or until rice is cooked and pudding is thick.
