SIMPLE FUDGE | |
1 (16 oz.) lg. can evaporated milk 4 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 lb. butter 3 (18 oz.) pkg. Nestles semi-sweet chocolate chips (3, 6 oz. pkg. or 1, 12 oz. & 1, 6 oz. pkg.) = 18 oz. 1 c. chopped nuts if desired In large saucepan mix 1 can evaporated milk and 4 1/2 cups sugar. Heat on medium, bring mixture to a boil. (Don't over boil.) Let boil 6 minutes. Pour into a large bowl and add 1 teaspoon vanilla, 3 packages semi-sweet chocolate chips, butter and nuts. Beat until it doesn't "shine", at the most 20 minutes. Pour into greased glass or metal pan. Allowed to cool, then cut into squares. This is a large mixture. For larger double, for less cut in half. (When I make my fudge I only use 3 cups of sugar, not 4 1/2.) Makes the same amount, but not as sweet. |
