TOAD - IN - THE - HOLE 
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
2 c. milk
3 c. sliced cooked chicken or 6 slices cooked roast beef
3 tbsp. chopped parsley
1/2 tsp. pepper

Sift the flour, baking powder and 1 teaspoon of the salt into a bowl. Add the egg and milk; beat until smooth. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place the chicken or meat in a buttered casserole. Sprinkle with parsley, pepper and salt. Pour the batter over it. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour.

Note: Although this recipe originated in England, it is well accepted part of the Australian cuisine and is popular throughout the entire country.
