FROSTED CHOCOLATE DROP COOKIES | |
1 c.sugar 1/2 c. butter, softened 1/3 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 egg 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled 1 3/4 c. all purpose flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. chopped nuts (optional) FROSTING: : 1 1/2 oz. unsweetened chocolate 1/3 c. milk 1/3 c. butter or 1/2 c. butter 1 1/2 c. sugar Cookies: Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix sugar, butter, buttermilk, vanilla, egg and chocolate in large bowl. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir in nuts. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until almost no indentation remains when touched. Immediately remove from cookie sheet; cool, then frost. Frosting: In saucepan; over medium heat, melt chocolate and butter. Stir in milk then sugar. Bring to a boil and boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat, set pan in cold water and stir until thick. Then frost cookies. |
