MARINARA SAUCE 
1 1/2 tbsp. olive oil
1 1/2 shallots, finely chopped
1 1/2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
1 can whole tomatoes
3 basil leaves, finely chopped
1 bay leaf
1/2 tbsp. tomato paste
1/2 tbsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 tsp. marjoram
1/4 tsp. salt

Saute shallots and garlic to heated olive oil. Add tomatoes. Stir in other ingredients. Raise heat. Simmer until thick. Remove bay leaf. Serve with pasta.
