SWEET-SOUR CABBAGE 
5 c. shredded cabbage
4 slices bacon, diced
2 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. enriched flour
1/2 c. water
1/3 c. vinegar
Salt & pepper
1 sm. onion, sliced

Cook cabbage in boiling, salted water 7 minutes. Fry bacon; remove bacon. Add sugar, flour to bacon fat; blend. Add water, vinegar and seasonings; cook until thick. Add onion, diced bacon and cabbage; heat through. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
